ITS Data Centre Power Down - TSG Managed IT Services in Monash University Data Centre

Introduction:

The following systems are currently housed in the University Data Centre. Based on the current ITS planned power shutdown from Friday 10 July through to the Monday 13 July all the equipment and the associated services will be unavailable.

The power is due to go down at 5pm on Friday 10 July. TSG will need to have a staged shutdown of systems due to the amount of systems we manage and time will need to be allocated for final backups of critical data.

The University data centre will undergo significant maintenance work to upgrade power transformers during the July upgrade of power transformers at Clayton.  The power supply to the data centre is currently at full capacity and the upgrade is vital so that further University and Faculty servers can be brought on line.
 
Power to the data centre will be shut down and disrupt IT services from
12 noon on Friday, 10 July to 12 noon on Monday, 13 July.
 
Services that will be unavailable or impacted during the outage include:

Allocate+
Syllabus+
Business Intelligence
Research Master
e-Research
iFolders
Novell Shared Directories
Novell User Directories
Monash Lectures On-line
 
Several faculty IT services will also be affected during this
maintenance period.
 
Staff will be informed of central and faculty services affected via
emailand regular notices in e-Bulletin and TSG News.
