Biography
Dr. Hui Yang is Senior Research Fellow of School of Primary Health Care Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
Dr. Hui Yang positioned Professor of Health Policy and Management of Peking University from 1999, and has 17 years working experience in Peking University as researcher and teacher. As department director of health policy and management, Dr. Yang leaded and/or participated many national level researches in China, such as national health service research in China, Chinese rural primary healthcare planning and evaluation, occupational health policy and intervention in small-scale township enterprises, Chinese rural cooperative medical insurance study, health education and promotion on non-communicable disease, management of maternal and child care, regional health resource planning in urban China, aging population and healthcare utilisation, scope and role of private medical practice in three provinces of China. 200 articles published in Chinese and international journals. He was awarded as Outstanding Young Academics of Beijing, China.
Dr. Hui Yang, during 2001 to 2004, focused on study of strategy and priority of health information planning development for supporting regional health planning. He awarded PhD at La Trobe University, then work for China Health Program of the same university. Dr. Yang provided teaching on Health Program Planning and Evaluation, and conducted comparative studies cooperated with Chinese hospital managers and researchers. He involved health information system study, community health service policy and service quality, policy analysis on Chinese health insurance, hospital quality improvement.
Dr. Hui Yang has joined Monash University since September 2006. Working with Professor Shane Thomas, Colette Browning and Leon Piterman, Dr. Yang is establishing and maintaining cooperative research partnership with key universities and research institutes in Beijing China. Dr. Yang currently focuses on three researches: hospital quality improvement, Australian-Chinese successful ageing comparative study, and community health/general practice policy and quality. In 2006, Dr. Yang published 27 articles on healthcare quality and healthy ageing, 3 chapters on hospital planning and evaluation, 3 chapters on health policy instrument and regional health planning.
