Biography
Sean Cowlishaw is a Research Fellow and Biostatistician in the Monash University Primary Care Research Unit (PCRU); including both the Health Ageing Research Unit (HARU) and Problem Gambling Research and Treatment Centre (PGRTC).
Sean obtained first class Honour's in psychology from Swinburne University (02 - 05), before receiving a competitive scholarship to pursue his PhD at La Trobe University (06 - 09). His doctoral research investigated inter-role conflict and stress within the families of Australian emergency service volunteers. He also presented lectures and instructed tutorial classes within psychology and health science undergraduate programs.
Sean has authored manuscripts and conducted analyses for articles published in prestigious international journals such as the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology and Work & Stress. He has active research interests focussed on family functioning in the context of psychological disorders (e.g., Problem Gambling, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder), and the application of advanced quantitative methods to longitudinal and multi-informant (i.e., family member) data; including covariance Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), Multilevel Modelling, and Latent Growth Curve Analysis.
