School of Biomedical Sciences Animal Ethics Committees (AECs)AEC Structure commencing January 2006At its meeting on 4 August 2005 the School of Biomedical Sciences Executive approved a proposal to improve the administrative support structure for Animal Ethics Committees (AECs) in the School. This followed earlier School Executive approval to merge the three current committees into two and seek full cost recovery for administrative support from Departments and commercial entities using these Animal Ethics Committees. The following new animal ethics structure commenced in January 2006: School of Biomedical Sciences “A” Animal Ethics Committee (SOBS A AEC) considers applications from Physiology, Anatomy & Cell Biology, Medical Imaging & Radiation Sciences, Monash Immunology & Stem Cell Laboratories School of Biomedical Sciences “B” Animal Ethics Committee (SOBS B AEC) considers applications from Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, and Monash Malaysia and MATF.
