Research Interests:
A complex interplay of viral, host and ecological factors shape the emergence, evolution, and incidence of rapidly evolving viral pathogens such as Influenza, HIV, and Ebola. A better understanding of these factors will aid the control of emerging and endemic diseases. Our research focuses on understanding the processes that govern infectious disease dynamics at within-host and population levels, by combining our expertise in human and animal disease surveillance, virology and computational evolutionary biology to collect and integrate multiple forms of data, including genetic, immunological, and epidemiological data.
