Obesity trends in Australia- implications for government target setting.
The prevalence of obesity in Australian adults approximately doubled between 1980 and 2000. Using a recently constructed projection model we predict that by 2025 the prevalence of obesity in Australian adults will be around 34%, with implications for Australian government health targets, and for social inequalities in health.
