'From Educational Research to Educational Practice'

The 2010 educational research symposium provides an opportunity for attendees to present and exchange ideas about educational research and best educational practice in the health professions and the health sciences.

This full day symposium will include:
- KEYNOTE Professor David Boud
A luminary of higher education research, with particular interests in assessment and work-based learning.
- KEYNOTE Professor Rick Iedema
An internationally renowned researcher into health communication.
- Concurrent sessions of peer-reviewed presentations on current educational research in health professions/health sciences.
- A showcase of recent educational research posters.
- An introduction to educational research workshop.

Abstract submission
Abstracts will be blind peer reviewed and should be on a research topic pertaining to educational research and the health professions or health sciences. Key criteria include:
- Quality of research or innovation
- Value/interest to symposium audience
Word limit: 500 words
Abstracts should be formatted under the following headings:
- Introduction
- Methods
- Results
- Discussion and Conclusion
Successful abstracts will be programmed as oral presentations. It is anticipated each presentation will be allocated 20 minutes including discussion and change over.

Poster submission
Do you have a poster from a previous conference stuck on your wall, or rolled into a tube under your desk? Is it relevant to health professional or health sciences education or education research? Then let us know!
We will accept all posters previously displayed at other relevant conferences since 2008 (inclusive).
All you must do is:
- Submit the name of your poster and the original conference with its original abstract for submissions.
- Provide your name, organisation and contact phone number in the body of the email and indicate that this is a poster submission.
