Project title: Effect of lifestyle risk factors on structures of the knee in osteoarthritis
Tina is examining several cohorts from healthy to established knee osteoarthritis to gain further understanding of potentially modifiable risk factors in OA. The subjects all undergo MRI of their dominant knee at baseline, 2 years, and for one cohort, at 4 years, to assess change in cartilage, tibial bone area and cartilage defects. These are surrogate markers of osteoarthritis. Lifestyle factors such as BMI, smoking, alcohol, physical activity and hormonal factors are assessed by questionnaire at each time point.
Tina completed a BPharm in 1990, MBBS in 2000, and has completed Part 1 and examination for FRACP at the Alfred Hospital.
