Robyn is a Senior Research Fellow with the CCRE in Therapeutics in this Department, and Executive Officer on the ASPREE Study (ASPirin Reducing Events in the Elderly).
Robyn graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons), majoring in physiology and pharmacology from the University of Queensland in 1979. She completed a PhD in 1982 in the Department of Medicine, Prince Henry's Hospital, Monash University, supervised by Professor Colin Johnston. For the next 15 years, Robyn carried out research on renal and cardiovascular peptide hormones at the Baker Institute, working with Warwick Anderson and Paul Korner amongst others. In 1993, Robyn was appointed to the NHMRC Research Fellowship scheme.
In 1998, Robyn moved her laboratory to the Howard Florey Institute, University of Melbourne, where she continued her research on the roles of cardiac natriuretic peptides in hypertension, heart failure, atherogenesis and the neural control of the heart. Robyn joined this Department in 2005.
