Associate Professor Rosemary Clerehan

Associate Professor Rosemary Clerehan is Director of the Faculty’s International Postgraduate Academic Support. For 20 years previously, she led the University’s language and academic skills support program. In that role she directed a series of substantial projects to develop academic skills web sites for students and professional development sites for staff (http://www.monash.edu.au/lls/).

Her research has been in the areas of written doctor-patient communication; learning on the web; disciplinary understandings and genre studies; cross-cultural issues in teaching and learning; and applications of systemic functional linguistics.

Programs are underpinned by her current research into research writing and learning in higher education, health professional communication, and cross-cultural understandings.

She has had NHMRC and other medical communication consultancies - some involving CD-ROM development.
