Disaster Epidemiology (Short Course)

Synopsis

This short course will be lead by staff from the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters.  This Centre maintains the world's pre-eminent disaster epidemiology data base known as ‘CRED'

This short course will introduce participants to:

  • The structure of the CRED data base
  • Accessing and questioning the CRED data base
  • An overview of the global trends in disaster epidemiology
  • The specific epidemiology of the trends in disasters of the Oceania and Asia regions
  • Utilising the CRED data base in epidemiological analyses of disasters
  • An overview of other relevant epidemiological data bases and the principles of epidemiological methods in disasters

At least 5 working days notice is needed if you are unable to attend the Forum event. Cancellations made less than 5 days prior to the seminar start date will be eligible for a 50% refund on the seminar fee. An alternative colleague may be substituted, if the need arises.
