AMREP EDUCATION CENTRE Introduction
The AMREP Education Centre contains a range of education and meeting facilities. It is located on the ground floor of the South Wing of the Alfred Medical Research Education Precinct (AMREP), next door to the Ian Potter Library.
The facilities include :
- 1 Seminar Room (seating up to 150 or 120 for catered functions)
- 3 Classrooms (seating up to 45)
- 5 Meeting Rooms (seating 3-16)
The Centre was established primarily for use by the four AMREP partners - The Alfred, Monash University Central and Eastern Clinical School (Alfred), Baker Heart Research Institute, and the Burnet Institute. Commercial use by external bodies is also considered.
Booking Arrangements
Bookings can be made by contacting the Centre Co-ordinator on (03) 9276 3099, or via email amrepeducation@alfred.org.au
The following details are required :
- Contact name, department, phone no.
- Date and time booking is required
- Length of session
- Number of attendees
- Name of the session
- Required audio visual equipment
- Are you arranging catering
- Is the session being run for an external organisation
The centre is also available for evening and weekend bookings. Staff will be available to attend to all audio visual and security needs.
Room Availability
Room availability and placed bookings can be checked via the Resource Scheduler booking system. Use the following intranet links to connect to the system (Java compliant browser required).
Bayside Health users - LINK (username=display, no password required).
Monash University (CECS), Baker & Burnet users - LINK (username=display, no password required).
Use of Audio Visual Equipment
The Seminar Room and Classrooms are fitted with the following equipment :
- Computer (WinXP, Powerpoint, CD-ROM, DVD, plugs for Zip-drive & USB memory stick)
- Video Player
- Dataprojector
- Overhead projector
It is the responsibility of users making bookings, to obtain instructions from the co-ordinator, in the use of all audio visual equipment.
Catering / Cleaning
The Centre does not have dedicated catering facilities or staff. When catering is required, it needs to be organised by the those using the room. Eating and drinking is strictly limited to two areas - rear of the Seminar room and the the foyer area, by arrangement only.
