Professor Gail Risbridger, Director of MIMR’s Centre for Urological Research and Associate Dean of Research at Monash University, has received one of the world’s top endocrinology awards.
Alumnus, Professor Arthur Christopoulos, of Monash University's Department of Pharmacology, has been named the 2007 Visitor to the British Pharmacology Society by his peers in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field.
Alumni Professor Richard Simpson and Dr Anthony Dear are testing a new diabetes drug for its potential to improve vascular health, as well as its primary purpose of regulating blood glucose levels.
First-year medical students had their curiosity awakened to the history of medicine in a new first-year elective. The variety in research projects ranged from the history of cataract surgery to Islamic medicine to Roman military medicine. Senior Lecturer, Dr Sanjiva Wijesinha gives an account of the launch of this course.
